The Native Wildflower Symphony Mix is a multi-region applicable seed mix that is designed with a strong emphasis on Native Wildflower diversity with 38 wildflower species of the 43 species total species in the mix. This mix is loaded with spring, summer, and late summer/early fall blooming species with a 75% to 25% ratio of native wildflowers to native grasses. Because of the high diversity this mix adapts to a wide range conditions: lower, intermediate, and high soil moistures, as little as 3 hours to a full day’s sun exposure, and sandy, silty, loamy, or clay based soils. There is only 1 species taller than 4 feet in this mix being Tall ironweed. What separates this mix from our other mixes is its abundant seeding rate of less common native meadow flower colors such as: Heal All (Purple), Ironweed (Purple), Marsh Blazing star (Purple), Downy Wood Mint (purple) New England Aster (Purple) Obedient Plant (pink), Purple Coneflower (pink) Mistflower (blue), Blue Wild Indigo (Blue), Spiderwort (Blue), Great Blue Lobelia (blue), Cardinal Flower (red), accented by the more common yellow and white blooming species of native meadows. While our other mixes contain good color diversity; this mix allocates higher proportions of the seed mix to color diversity.
Native Applicability
This Native Seed Mix is designed to be widely applicable throughout the Midwest, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and lower Northeastern U.S. The limiting species that aren’t much native to the northeast are Mistflower and Purple Coneflower.
